Comedy Bitch: Them is Us

****

4 Stars

Comedy Bitch is a six strong sketch comedy group consisting of Jonathan Broke, Hannah Gittos, Louise Howells, Ben Kewin, Tom Lyall-Cottle and Sophie Wright and for me was one of the highlights of Fringe 2009. I was therefore looking forward to seeing what their 2010 show had to offer.

I, along with a lot of others, was treated to almost an hour of sketch comedy that was good, but for me anyway, not quite up to the 2009 standard.

Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy it, it was well staged, there were so wicked sketches, but for me anyway, one or two that were not of the same high quality I have grown to expect from this group of performers. Yet with in the region of fifteen scenarios presented within the hour, there was not too much problem if one didn’t work for me, because another would be along shortly afterwards.

I know this show will be very popular with many, and if sketch comedy is your bag then I would recommend them. They certainly have the ability to entertain and I’ll look for them to be back stronger than ever next year.
